Here is a photo of Cage's 4 year old son, Kal-el leaving Disneyland back in March. Kal-el seems to take after more of his mom's Korean features. What do you think?

A Look at Korean School Lunches
Lunch A looks like potato, kimchee, bean sprout soup, and kimchi chigae over rice.
Lunch B looks like seasoned squid, meat and potato curry, kimchee, and soybean paste soup with rice.
Lunch C looks like sliced radish with egg, mandoo (dumpling), kimchee, Deukboki (rice cake dish), rice and fish cake udon soup.
Pictured above are typical school lunches given to Korean school aged children. As you can see, all of the lunch trays include rice, soup, kimchee, and a Korean main dish of some sort. The kids eat their lunches with metal chopsticks, which is unlike American children who primarily eat finger foods (sandwich, chicken nuggets, pizza) for lunch.

Cute Heart and Star Shaped Cucumbers!
I think I have bento fever as I can't stop looking at all the creative lunchbox ideas from Japan and Korea! Just learned that you can buy these molds to shape your cucumber (while they are growing) into hearts or stars! If you have a cucumber garden and want to try this, you can purchase them through Japantrendshop.com. Or if you live in Japan, you can purchase heart and star shaped cucumbers at the market. How cute these would look in your dosirak/bento!

Children's Day Giveway Contest on Facebook!
Giveaway time! To celebrate Children's Day in Korea on May 5th, we decided to do a dosirak giveway contest. Children's Day is a big deal in Korea as children get taken out to a day of fun and get lavished with gifts! Making a special dosirak can be part of the fun!
To enter the contest, just post on the Little Seouls Fan Page wall a description of your child's favorite meal. If you can share the recipe and... a photo of the actual meal even better! Thought this would be a fun way for everyone to get new menu ideas! Winner to be selected next Friday, April 23rd so plenty of time to enter. Prize will be a Pororo Dosirak either in blue or pink (you choose).

Another fun dosirak recipe!
Dosirak Recipe for a Family Outing/Vacation
Ingredients: Rice, seasoned seaweed (kim), soy sauce, sesame oil, imitation crab meet, carrot, cheese.
Mix rice with sesame oil and soy sauce until light brown color is achieved.
Make a round rice ball.
Get rice and use the seaweed and fold over as shown above. Hotter the rice the better result.
Cut the rice to shape into hat.
Get a small piece of seaweed and put a little bit of rice and fold over as shown above.
Place the folded over rice on top of the prior hat piece.
Make eyes and mouth by cutting the seaweed with a kitchen knife.
Take out the middle part of the crab meet as shown.
Wrap the imitation crab meet around the rice ball and use any leftovers to decorate your dosirak "bento."
Use cheese, vegetables and fruit to complete the look.
