May 5 is the official Korean holiday for children. It is customary for parents to take out their children to a day of fun, like a picnic, museum or amusement park. Children also receive gifts from their parents and grandparents. Although this holiday is not really celebrated here in the US, I know there are some of you who will try to do something extra special for their child today.
My children know its Children's Day today because their grandparents (1st generation KA) called to wish them a "Happy Children's Day" and also gave them a gift. Is anyone celebrating Children's Day today? If so, we would love to hear about it! Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
