Sanrio Small Gift Show

Sanrio is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year! They hosted a Sanrio Small Gift Show in Santa Monica to commemorate the special occasion. Since we live nearby, we decided to go and see what it was all about!

I did not realize how crowded the show would be. I also did not realize that most of the participants would be adults and not children. Sanrio has a huge following among all age groups! Despite the crowds, my kids had fun playing miniature golf, riding the ferris wheel, playing booth games and visiting the art exhibit. The line to the gift store was over 2 1/2 hours long, so we were unable to view the adorable items for sale.

I hear the next Sanrio Small Gift Show will be in Miami. For more information, you can visit their site here.

Hello Kitty Cafe

We all know that Hello Kitty is popular in Asia, but did you know that they had Hello Kitty Cafes in Korea? Look how adorable this place is, not only for kids but for parents who are Hello Kitty fans! I would go to one if they opened one up in the US. How about you?

Happy Birthday Korean Rice Cakes

A fun twist to traditional Korean duk (rice cakes). Here are some Korean rice cakes designed in Pororo and Hello Kitty. Sorry, I don't know who makes them here in the U.S but it doesn't hurt to ask your Korean baker! These were made by a bakery in Korea called Song Pa Duk House.

Valentine's Day Dosirak

I'm always so amazed by the creative ways people decorate their dosirak in Korea. Here's a cute one I found with Hello Kitty holding a heart saying I Love You. What kid wouldn't want to open their lunch box to find this creation?
